Here are a couple of my own - taken from the television. It's necessary to work very quickly because people don't stay still. I've never done this before, but I enjoyed it. Need to distort the features even more, I feel.
My inspiration is heritage craft: I manipulate materials by scraping, scrubbing, twisting, weaving, beating, stitching, chipping, tearing and melting.
I use an archaeological approach to investigate the layers of history: First I excavate and deconstruct traditional craft materials, then recombine them in unexpected ways to symbolise and emphasise their significance. In the process, I'm reconstructing and redefining myself.
