Back in Hatfield Park again, I'm waiting for friends outside the tea room. I do a warm up using what is next to me. The first attempt is overworked and heavy. The second attempt I like.

- My inspiration is heritage craft: I manipulate materials by scraping, scrubbing, twisting, weaving, beating, stitching, chipping, tearing and melting. I use an archaeological approach to investigate the layers of history: First I excavate and deconstruct traditional craft materials, then recombine them in unexpected ways to symbolise and emphasise their significance. In the process, I'm reconstructing and redefining myself.
