About Me

My photo
Miriam Fraser
My inspiration is heritage craft: I manipulate materials by scraping, scrubbing, twisting, weaving, beating, stitching, chipping, tearing and melting. I use an archaeological approach to investigate the layers of history: First I excavate and deconstruct traditional craft materials, then recombine them in unexpected ways to symbolise and emphasise their significance. In the process, I'm reconstructing and redefining myself.
